The FUTURUM Quality Gear RIDE seat pad has been ergonomically formed, so that it connects well with the seating surface. For this and every other FUTURUM Quality Gear seat pad, a special production technology is used. By shaving off the parts of the foam, which are not needed to create the shape of the padding, the density of the specific foam remains equal over the entire surface of the insert. This provides great comfort during your rides.

JORIS, 4 SEASONS - COMP

The ergonomic fit of the COMP seat pad allows you to concentrate fully on delivering exceptional performances. For this and every other FUTURUM Quality Gear seat pad, a special production technology is used. By shaving off the parts of the foam, which are not needed to create the shape of the padding, the density of the specific foam remains equal over the entire surface of the insert. All the materials used in the production of this seat pad ensure good moisture extraction, maximum breathability and a fast drying effect. This increases thermoregulation and comfort. The COMP seat pad is recommended for all-distance riders, even those of more than eight hours, since the foam has several density layers that offer great support. Furthermore, the carbon yarns have an antibacterial effect, which keeps the seat pad fresh.

Thanks to its excellent cushioning, the PRO seat pad is suitable for every circumstance, even the most extreme rides of eight hours and more. Whichever position you sit on the saddle, the chamois perfectly matches the body's vision, so that it is always comfortable and provides the best support. The zigzag structure of carbon fibres makes sure that the chamois is antibacterial, so it remains wonderfully fresh. Whilst riding, one will benefit from extra air circulation, which will be generated through the special perforation. This keeps the temperature lower, dries the chamois more quickly, which reduces friction and irritation. The middle of the chamois is made of 10 millimeter thick "high-density" foam, so that any bumps are well cushioned. The outer sides are made of 4 millimeter thick memory foam, so that the chamois forms well to your body, every ride again. Like every other seat pad in FUTURUM Quality Gear shorts and tights, a special production technology is used. FUTURUM Quality Gear 4 SEASONS is a collection of clothing, developed in an almost unique way for tough and wet weather conditions, but still focusing on close-fitting clothing unlike your typical rain gear. Thanks to the high-tech membrane, the 4 SEASONS fabric is both water- and windproof without losing its great breathable capabilities. The DWR coating helps making the clothing more waterproof, since water will not be able to reach the membrane. Thanks to the strategically placed reflective details, your visibility will be improved. The 2-Way stretch provides a good and comfortable fit. You can use the 4 SEASONS clothing in a temperature range from -5 to +15 degrees Celsius. Find out more about 4 SEASONS.

DWR stands for Durable Water Repellent, which says it all. The special DWR coating makes sure that water can’t reach the high-tech membrane in the 4 SEASONS clothing. Because there is less water pressure on the membrane, there is less chance that the water will penetrate through it. Clothing with this DWR coating keeps your body dry, even in heavy rain.

After a period of time, the DWR functionality decreases. To reactivate, you can use three options.

1. Tumble dry your garment on low heating temperature for 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the outer fabric.
2. Iron the dry garment on the gentle setting (warm, no steam) by placing a towel or cloth between the garment and the iron. This will help reactivate the DWR treatment on your garment’s outer fabric.
3. If step 1 and/or 2 are not providing the expected result, because the DWR layer is completely worn out, we advise to apply a new DWR layer by using Nikwax TX.Direct® Spray-On. This product is easy and quick to apply, and its highly Durable Water Repellency (DWR) develops on air drying.

You only need one base layer underneath your FUTURUM Quality Gear 4 SEASONS jacket. The jacket is warm enough and is very breathable despite its waterproof design. That makes this the perfect jacket for every season. With only one additional base layer, you can adapt to different temperatures. We recommend a short sleeve base layer for typical temperatures of the interim periods between the seasons and a long sleeve jersey (ideally Merino) for the colder winter days.

As a general guideline we say that the 4 SEASONS clothing are used when the temperature is in the -5°C to +15°C degree range.

Please note that the Merino wool that is used for the Merino Base Layers has self-cleaning properties, meaning that you don’t necessarily need to wash the Merino Base Layer after each ride. Simply hang it out to dry in a well ventilated room or in the open air. This is beneficial for the environment, the durability of the garment and eventually your wallet. If you do choose to wash the Merino Base Layer, you can follow the same washing instructions as mentioned above.

FUTURUM Quality Gear Sunglasses are all very versatile, because you can easily bend the ear- and nose pieces. The Standard II, Photochromic II and Hydrophobic sunglasses are a bit wider than the Standard I and Photochromic I.

All FUTURUM Quality Gear lenses are removable for easy cleaning or changing for another pair. You can simply remove the lens by pulling it out of the frame.

Photochromic lenses adjust themselves according to the amount of light that shines on the lenses. That way you see enough when the sun doesn’t shine bright. When the sun does shine, the light will be filtered up to 90%.

The light transmittance of the Photochromic lenses vary from 10 to 70%, which stands for the amount of light that the lenses let through. In very sunny conditions, the percentage will be close to 10, whereas the 70% mark will be reached in lower light conditions.

Our glasses are not available with prescription lenses.
